Maroon 5, whose roots trace partly to frontman Adam Levine and guitarist Jesse Carmichael's semester at Five Towns College in Dix Hills, will play Jones Beach Theater on July 3 as part of a nine-date mini-tour between sessions of the rock band's Las Vegas residency.
Three-time Grammy Award-winners Maroon 5 released their first no. 1 single, “Makes Me Wonder,” in 2007. The band eventually scored Diamond certifications, meaning 10 million units sold each, with the No. 1 singles “Moves Like Jagger” (2001), featuring Christina Aguilera, and “Girls Like You” (2018), featuring Cardi B. An additional No. 1 single, “One More Night” (2012) also went multiplatinum.. The band, whose most recent album, “Jordi,” came out in 2021, completed a 16-date Las Vegas residency at the Park MGM hotel-casino's Dolby Live theater in 2023. A second 16-date residency plays there May 17 to June 1 and Sept. 27 to Oct. 12 this year.
Their last area concert was June 25, 2020, at Citi Field. The year before, they had headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show, though to largely disappointing reviews. “We thank our fans for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better,” Levine wrote on Instagram afterward.
County-music star Morris has earned 17 Grammy nominations, winning the award on her first mod with her Best Country Solo Performance single, “My Church” (2015). While she has played Manhattan venues regularly over the last few years, including Radio City Music Hall in 2019 and 2022, her sole recorded Long Island performance was Sept. 12, 2018, also at Jones Beach.. Morris additionally appears Wednesday, her 34th birthday, at 6 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble bookstore at Union Square in Manhattan, to sign copies of her and co-writer Karina Argow's children's book, “Addie Ant Goes on an Adventure.”
