KISS, Rock's most iconic band is unleashing another assault on North America with The Hottest Show on Earth tour. Special Guest "The Academy Is..." -  KISS will perform such classics as "Detroit Rock City" and "Rock and Roll All Nite" as well as hits that they haven't played in the US in many years. The tour is in support of their recent album 'Sonic Boom.' In addition to songs from the new record, the group promises both an updated stage show and to dust off some fan favorite songs that have been missing from recent Kiss tours. The new album, Sonic Boom - their best since the early ‘80s - has seen a return to the writing and recording practices of their earliest work, and, by their own accounts, has been fun to make: “It’s a lot to do with not having to babysit Ace and Peter. I’m sorry to say that as soon as they left the band, it became enjoyable again,” says Simmons. http://KISS.jonesbeach.com

It’s difficult finding a chink in the armour of US hard rock band Kiss.
It’s not just the physical armour, which along with platform boots makes bassist Gene Simmons around seven feet tall. Their self-confidence hubris is almost impossible to dent. “You can be three or 73 and a Kiss fan,” declares guitarist Paul Stanley, who along with guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer make up the rest of the band. “Our fans are celebrating our jubilant approach to life and the fact we don’t take rubbish from anybody and you can come out a winner. “So they’re an army, they’re a team, they’re a tribe, and as time goes on they become more iconic. Even with a change of members the band became stronger and it shows that nothing can stop Kiss. ”
